Palm Sunday

Today many Christian churches across the world celebrate Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday commemorates the triumphant entrance of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:1–9) on a donkey and palm branches were placed in his path. This took place before his arrest on Holy Thursday and his crucifixion on Good Friday. This marks the beginning of Holy Week, the final week of Lent.

As we reflect on Palm Sunday, we realize that Jesus knew he was riding to his death, to make the ultimate sacrifice for us. He did not have to do it but he did.

Today as I walked through the exhibit of the New Testament at the Bible Museum in Washington DC, it was so interesting to see how the scripture unfolded and came to life. It brought to bare the selflessness of Jesus, that even in death he thought of us first, Sinners and unworthy of His grace and mercy he died on that cross for us.

Let us remember to give Him thanks today.
