Why I Want To Evangelize

“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28: 16 – 20

The Great commission was initially given to the eleven apostles by Jesus whilst He was here on earth however this commandment was not meant for them alone. It was meant for all disciples of Jesus Christ. As followers of Jesus Christ, Christian are expected for follow after Him and keep His commandments. From the moment we received our new birth in Jesus Christ we begin to walk the Christian walk with purpose. Jesus came to rescue the dying, heal the sick and offer hope to the hopeless. As His followers here on earth we are expected to continue to tell people about the goodness of God  and the redemptive power of Jesus Christ until He returns. That is one of the purposes of the Christian. So let us not forget our purpose. Let’s endeavor to carry out the Great Commission with urgency. People are waiting to here the truth.
